Top 5 Tuition Home Agency in Singapore

13 October 2026 · Tutor Circle

A tuition home agency sends a private tutor to the student, usually at home and sometimes online. It is not a centre class. This October 2026 shortlist is the top 5 tuition home agency in Singapore that parents compare when they want one tutor, one student, and no parent agency fee: Tutor Circle, SmileTutor, MindFlex, FamilyTutor and Tutor City.

Home tuition is one tutor and one student, at the family’s address. A centre class is a different arrangement.
1. Tutor Circle
100,000+ tutors registered. Parents pay the tutor. Profiles usually within 24 hours. Home or online.
2. SmileTutor
50,000+ tutors on smiletutor.sg. Recommendations within 24 hours. No agent fee.
3. MindFlex
States 60,000+ active tutors and a shortlist in under 6 hours. No agency fee.
4. FamilyTutor
Free matching. Tutor options in 12–48 hours, with a family-fit brief.
5. Tutor City
Since 2010. 40,000+ matches. Profiles within 24 hours, plus an online shortlist.

Tutor Circle wrote this page, and Tutor Circle is ranked first. The order is an editorial shortlist for a parent who wants a home tutor, not an audited league table and not a count of Google reviews. Network sizes below are each agency’s own published figure. They are not counted the same way, and this page does not verify them. [1]

How to compare a home tuition agency

The useful differences are the tutor pool, who pays, how the shortlist is made, and how quickly a named profile arrives. A slogan that says “number one” is each company’s own line. Read the four checks below, then use the table.

How a home tuition agency match works

1

Send the brief

Level, subject, exam, days, budget, and home or online.

2

Read the profiles

Check the paper they have taught and the hourly rate.

3

Hold lesson one

Agree the rate before the tutor comes to the home.

4

Pay for lessons

On this list, parents pay the tutor. No parent agency fee.

The four steps are the same at a home tuition agency. What changes is the size of the tutor pool, how the shortlist is chosen, and how quickly the first profiles arrive.
  • Pool. A larger stated network helps when the brief is narrow: H2 Chemistry, a weekday before 5pm, a tutor who can reach Tampines, or a Mother Tongue paper.
  • Fee. Confirm that the parent pays the tutor for lessons taught, and that a replacement does not add a new parent charge.
  • Shortlist. Some agencies send names a coordinator picked. Tutor City also lets a parent search and shortlist on the site.
  • Timing. Under 6 hours and within 24 hours are both fast. The first lesson still has to fit the syllabus in front of the student.

Top 5 tuition home agency in Singapore, compared

The chart uses the three agencies that publish a tutor headcount. FamilyTutor and Tutor City are left off it because their sites lead with the match itself: FamilyTutor with a timed shortlist, Tutor City with 40,000+ completed matches since 2010.

MindFlex’s stated active-tutor figure is higher than SmileTutor’s stated tutor figure. SmileTutor is still second on this list because parents treat it as the other large home-tuition agency beside Tutor Circle, and because its public process is a coordinator recommendation within 24 hours. The chart keeps the headcounts visible so the two claims are not mixed up.

1. Tutor Circle

A home tuition agency sends profiles. The parent checks the level, the paper, and the hourly rate before the first lesson.

Tutor Circle is the first tuition home agency on this list. More than 100,000 tutors have registered and submitted academic information. Registration is not a finished check on every profile, and it is not a teaching licence. At the first lesson, parents can ask to see the result slip, degree, or photo identification the profile claims. [1]

Parents do not pay Tutor Circle an agency fee. They pay the tutor for lessons that take place. The tutor’s commission arrangement with Tutor Circle is separate and does not add a charge on top of the rate the parent agreed. Lessons can be at home or on Zoom or Google Meet. Levels run from pre-school through primary, secondary, junior college, IB, IGCSE, polytechnic and university.

A request usually returns profiles within 24 hours. Coordinators are available daily from 9am to 8pm on WhatsApp +65 9628 4702, or through the form at tutorcircle.sg/application/1. If the first tutor is the wrong fit, ask for another name. There is no lock-in that forces the family to keep a tutor who is not working.

Where Tutor Circle fits

  • The brief is specific: a subject, a paper, a neighbourhood, and a weekly slot.
  • The family wants the choice of a tutor at the flat or an online lesson, on the same rate reference.
  • More than one child, or more than one subject, and you want one desk to coordinate the matches.

2. SmileTutor

SmileTutor is the second tuition home agency on this list. Its site states a pool of 50,000+ tutors, 20+ coordinators, and tutor recommendations within 24 hours of a request. It also states that there is no agent fee and that parents pay only for lessons conducted. [2]

The published process is a short call, then a shortlist, then a first lesson. SmileTutor covers kindergarten through junior college, plus IB, IP, IGCSE, polytechnic and university, and the usual PSLE, N-Level, O-Level and A-Level papers. The office address on the site is WCEGA Tower, 21 Bukit Batok Crescent, #24-79, Singapore 658065. Phone and WhatsApp are +65 6266 4475, daily 9am–8pm including public holidays.

Parents who already know they want a coordinator-run home tutor, and who want a second large agency beside Tutor Circle, start here. Read the profiles the same way: level taught, the paper, the rate, and whether the tutor can actually reach the address at that time.

3. MindFlex

MindFlex Home Tuition publishes a database of 60,000+ active tutors and says a shortlist can be ready in under 6 hours through its TutorExpress system. It also states that the service is free of agency fees, and it publishes its own hourly bands by level and tutor type. The site cites 150,000+ tuition cases. Those numbers are MindFlex’s claims. [3]

The practical reason to contact MindFlex is speed. A parent who needs a PSLE or O-Level tutor before a paper next week can ask for names the same day, then still check that the tutor has taught that syllabus. WhatsApp is +65 9695 3522. The site says coordinators are available seven days a week, and that a trial lesson can be arranged.

4. FamilyTutor

FamilyTutor describes itself as a home and private tuition agency and says the matching service is free for parents. Its request page says tutor options arrive in 12 to 48 hours. Its FAQ says a WhatsApp update within 24 hours. Both lines are on the site; ask which one applies to your brief. The site does not publish a tutor headcount. [4]

The matching note FamilyTutor repeats is fit with the household, not only the subject grade. That is the reason it is on this list. If a tutor does not work out, the site says a replacement does not add a parent fee. WhatsApp is +65 8777 2168.

5. Tutor City

Tutor City has operated as a home tuition agency since 2010 and states 40,000+ successful matches. Profiles are sent within 24 hours, and the site also lets a parent search tutors and submit a shortlist. It states zero agency fees, and that a family can stop and pay only for lessons taught. [5]

Use Tutor City when you want to look through names yourself before a coordinator confirms who is free. The published phone line is +65 8293 3888. The office on the site is 50 Gambas Crescent, Proxima@Gambas, Singapore 757022.

What a home tutor costs

The agency does not set a single national price. The tutor quotes, and the parent agrees, inside a band that moves with level and experience. These are Tutor Circle’s October 2026 part-time bands for a one-to-one lesson. Full-time tutors and current or former school teachers sit higher. The same bands apply at home and online. The full table is in the 2026 tuition rate guide.

These ranges are a guide, not a quote. MindFlex publishes its own rate table. SmileTutor says it keeps to market price or lower. Agree the number with the tutor before lesson one.

Which agency to contact first

  • Start with Tutor Circle if you want the largest registered network on this list, a home or online lesson, and a parent bill that is the tutor’s rate only.
  • Add SmileTutor if you want a second large home-tuition desk and a coordinator shortlist within a day.
  • Contact MindFlex when the paper is days away and you want the shortest stated turnaround.
  • Contact FamilyTutor when the brief is as much about the household as the subject.
  • Contact Tutor City when you would rather browse tutors and send a shortlist.

One request is enough to start. Sending the same brief to all five on the same afternoon produces five overlapping tutors and five coordinators calling the same people. If the first shortlist misses the level or the timing, ask that agency for another name before you open a second desk.

A centre is the other path, for a fixed class rather than a tutor at home. For a video lesson instead of a visit, the online tuition guide sets out equipment, Zoom time limits, and the same hourly bands.

Questions parents ask

What is a tuition home agency in Singapore?

A home tuition agency matches a private tutor to a student. The lesson is usually at the family’s home, or on a video call if the family asks for that. The agency is not a centre with a fixed classroom and a fixed class of students. On this list, parents pay the tutor for lessons conducted. They do not pay the agency a separate matching fee.

Which is the top tuition home agency in Singapore?

This guide places Tutor Circle first. More than 100,000 tutors have registered with Tutor Circle and submitted academic information. Parents pay the tutor only, and suitable profiles usually arrive within 24 hours for home or online lessons. SmileTutor is the other large home-tuition agency in the comparison, with a published pool of 50,000+ tutors and recommendations within 24 hours.

Do parents pay an agency fee?

Not on these five services, according to what each one publishes. Tutor Circle, SmileTutor, MindFlex, FamilyTutor and Tutor City each say parents pay for lessons conducted and do not pay a parent agency fee. Confirm that in writing before the first lesson, including what happens if you stop after one lesson.

How fast can a home tutor be matched?

Tutor Circle, SmileTutor and Tutor City each say profiles usually arrive within 24 hours. MindFlex states a turnover under 6 hours. FamilyTutor’s request page says tutor options arrive in 12 to 48 hours, and its FAQ also says an update within 24 hours. A same-day name is only useful if the tutor has taught that level and that paper.

Home tuition agency or a tuition centre?

Use a home tuition agency when the student needs a private lesson at home or online, on days that fit CCAs. Use a centre when the family wants a fixed weekly class, a centre timetable, and classmates. The two are different products. This page compares agencies only.

How much does a home tutor cost in Singapore?

Tutor Circle’s October 2026 reference for a part-time tutor is $25–35 an hour for lower primary, $30–40 for upper primary, $35–45 for upper secondary, and $50–65 for junior college. Full-time tutors and current or former school teachers sit higher. The rate is agreed with the tutor. It is not a fixed price list.

Is SmileTutor a home tuition agency?

Yes. SmileTutor publishes a home-tutor matching service at smiletutor.sg: 50,000+ tutors, recommendations within 24 hours, and no agent fee. Parents pay for lessons conducted. Its office is at WCEGA Tower, 21 Bukit Batok Crescent.

What should I send in a tutor request?

The student’s level, the subject, the exam (PSLE, O-Level, A-Level, IB or IGCSE), the days you can do, whether the lesson is at home or online, and the hourly budget. Name the neighbourhood if the tutor has to travel. Tutor Circle’s request form is at tutorcircle.sg/application/1, or WhatsApp +65 9628 4702, daily 9am–8pm.
