Tutor Circle 10th Anniversary
Ten years by your side, helping students excel
Our Vision and Mission
Ten years ago, Tutor Circle started with a simple belief: every child deserves access to quality education. As founders, we knew how stressful it could be for parents to find the right tutor for their child. That's why we created Tutor Circle – a professional, reliable and transparent tutoring‑matching platform where every student can find the right tutor and achieve their learning goals.
10-year Milestones
Over the past 10 years, Tutor Circle has grown from a small startup into a leading tutoring‑matching platform in Hong Kong. This journey has been possible only because of the support and trust from parents, students and tutors. Here are some achievements we're proud of:
• ✅ Served 120,000+ students – from kindergarten to Junior College, we have helped countless kids overcome learning plateaus and see them grow from "scared of exams" to "love learning".
• ✅ 100,000+ successful matches – our professional tutors create personalised learning plans for each student to maximise results.
• ✅ 95% parent satisfaction rate – thousands of positive reviews show how families have improved their results and confidence.

Home‑tutoring fees depend on several factors. Here are the main ones parents should know:
3 main factors affecting fees – tutor qualifications
A tutor's education background and experience are key factors that affect the rate. Generally, the more experienced or qualified the tutor, the higher the fee. For example:
💬 Hiring university student to tutor a lower secondary student, the hourly rate is usually around $45, depending on the subject.
💬 Hiring a full‑time private tutor for a lower secondary student, the hourly rate is about $55.
💬 If you prefer a current school teacher, the hourly rate generally starts from $60.
Most home tutors are university students using tutoring as a part‑time job, so their fees are relatively lower. For example, a Primary 6 student's home‑tutoring rate is usually around $35/hour. If you hire a full‑time tutor instead, the fee can be up to about double that of a part‑time tutor.
Education level of student
A student's education level also affects the price. In general, higher‑level students pay more for tutoring. For example:
💬 A full‑time tutor teaching a lower secondary student usually charges from $40/hour.
💬 The same tutor teaching an upper secondary student may charge up to $50/hour.
A student's learning pace and needs can also affect the price. If the student's foundation is weak, the tutor may need to prepare extra materials such as personalised notes, practice worksheets or mock papers. These "extra services" can raise the fee.
One‑to‑one vs small‑group tuition
One‑to‑one home tutoring is usually more expensive than small‑group classes. In general, if students form their own small group, the average fee per student is about 70–80% of a one‑to‑one lesson, depending on group size and other conditions.
Future Outlook
Ten years is a milestone, but our journey has only just begun. Going forward, Tutor Circle will continue our mission to help students excel, by introducing more innovative technology and teaching resources.
